My fellow Americans, it has been the honor of my life to serve you. I won’t stop; in fact, I will be right there with you, as a citizen, for all my days that remain. For now, whether you’re young or young at heart, I do have one final ask of you as your President - the same thing I asked when you took a chance on me eight years ago.
I am asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about change - but in yours. I am asking you to hold fast to that faith written into our founding documents; that idea whispered by slaves and abolitionists; that spirit sung by immigrants and homesteaders and those who marched for justice; that creed reaffirmed by those who planted flags from foreign battlefields to the surface of the moon; a creed at the core of every American whose story is not yet written: Yes We Can. Yes We Did. Yes We Can.THANK YOU, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA FOR EIGHT AMAZING YEARS [2008-2016]

via http://ift.tt/2jDGgUD:Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s GOOD OMENS Gets a Miniseries From Amazon | Nerdist:

Via ComingSoon, Amazon Studios and BBC are co-producing the Good Omens adaptation, which will run for 6 hour-long episodes in 2018. Gaiman and Sir Terry’s story was first published in 1990, and numerous attempts to adapt it as a movie or a television series failed to come to pass. Gaiman previously said that he had no intention of trying to adapt it again after Sir Terry’s death. However, Gaiman later revealed that he received a letter from Sir Terry after his demise that requested Gaiman continue his attempts to get Good Omens made. Now, it appears that he has finally succeeded.

“Almost thirty years ago, Terry Pratchett and I wrote the funniest novel we could about the end of the world, populated with angels and demons, not to mention an eleven-year old Antichrist, witchfinders and the four horsepeople of the Apocalypse,” shared Gaiman in an Amazon press release. “It became many people’s favourite book. Three decades later, it’s going to make it to the screen. I can’t think of anyone we’d rather make it with than BBC Studios, and I just wish Sir Terry were alive to see it.”

And @neil-gaiman is going to be showrunner?!

This is fantastic news!
